
Making Your PET Heating Modules Actually Work With Your Machine
Most PET blowing machines rely on short-wave infrared lamps to get those preforms hot before they hit the mold. The problem? Finding replacements that actually fit without a headache. We designed our heating modules to be simple drop-in replacements. They work with about 95% of the brands out there. We didn’t overcomplicate it; we just focused on the stuff that actually causes problems: the electrical footprint, the size, and how the heat actually hits the plastic.
Getting the Fit Right
It all starts with the connector and the voltage. If you’re using R7s or Sk15 bases, the fit has to be spot on. If it’s loose, you get arcing, and that’s a mess nobody wants. We make tubes in all sorts of wattages and voltages to match whatever power rail you’re running. Now, a 400V high-wattage tube is great for fast cycle times because it packs a punch. But here’s the thing: make sure your cooling blowers can keep up. If the air isn’t moving, that quartz tube is going to warp. Simple as that.
The Secret is in the Glass
We use heavy-wall quartz glass because we’re tired of seeing lamps burn out too early. Plus, we added a special coating to shift the infrared spectrum. Why? Because you want the heat to soak deep into the PET wall, not just scorch the surface and leave you with a ruined bottle. We also fill them with halogen gas. It pushes the tungsten back onto the wire, which means the lamp doesn’t dim out while you’re running 24/7.
No Rewiring Required
You shouldn’t have to tear apart your machine just to switch brands. We keep standard lengths and diameters in stock so you can just swap them out during your usual downtime. Since we match the original spectral curve, your timers and heating profiles should stay exactly where you set them. Just plug it in and calibrate your sensors. One quick tip: if you’re running a high-speed line, double-check the tension on those R7s sockets. It prevents those annoying hot spots from forming.
