Usually, it happens because the new lamps don’t heat the preform the same way the originals did. We handle this differently. When we build a replacement for a Sidel Matrix, we don’t just look at the length of the tube and call it a day. We obsess over the spectral output and heat density. We want the heat to hit the plastic exactly how the factory intended. The nitty-gritty of the heat Here is the thing: if your wattage-to-voltage ratio is even slightly off, your whole timing is ruined. A tiny change in the wire gauge or the thickness of the quartz tube changes how the heat moves. That’s why we use the same filament alloys and winding densities as the OEM. If your wattage is off by just 5%, your PLC timing won’t match the actual temperature of the material. And when that happens, you’re spending your afternoon tweaking settings instead of running production. No headaches during install We made these to be simple drop-in replacements. The footprint and connectors are exact, so you can just slide them in. No rewiring. No messing around with brackets. We also use high-purity quartz glass. It’s tough. It can handle those high-intensity cycles without burning out early. Plus, we can tweak the coating based on what material you’re using. This helps the heat actually soak into the PET plastic rather than just bouncing off the surface. One quick heads-up These lamps put out a lot of heat. Like, a lot. Because they match the original power, your oven’s ventilation and cooling blowers need to be in top shape. If your airflow is clogged or restricted, those high-wattage tubes will cook your lamp holders and fry the electrical contacts. Keep your filters clean. It’s a small chore, but it keeps your lamps from dying early.
