
Stop Fighting Your Oven’s Temperature

Because they don’t have that heavy “thermal mass,” we can flick the power on and off in tiny, second-long bursts. Your controller can finally do its job. Instead of waiting for a coil to slowly cool off, you’re switching the energy source itself. It’s the difference between trying to steer a cruise ship and driving a go-kart.
The gear you’ll need (and what to watch out for)
These heaters are designed to drop right into catering-grade convection units. We use high-grade quartz so they don’t bow or warp when things get intense. But, a quick heads-up on the electronics. Youmustuse Solid State Relays (SSRs) that can handle fast switching. If you try to use old-school mechanical contactors, they’ll be clicking non-stop and will probably burn out in a few weeks. Also, keep an eye on your airflow. This kind of radiant heat is powerful. If your fans aren’t moving that air away from the sensors, you’ll get “ghost” readings that throw everything off.
