
Stop Fighting Your SIPA Oven
If you’ve ever run a SIPA rotary machine, you know the headache of uneven preforms. One bottle looks great, the next has thin walls or weird stretching. It’s frustrating. Usually, the culprit is something simple: mismatched lamps. We see it all the time. An engineer throws in a few infrared lamps from a different brand or a random batch, thinking “close enough” is fine. But if that wattage isn’t a dead match for the Krones S24 specs, you get hot spots. Period. The trick is in the power. Think of it as power density. If a lamp has even a tiny voltage deviation, the heat flux shifts. We build our lamps to mirror the original OEM electrical footprint exactly. That way, the infrared wave hits the PET preform with the same punch at every single station in the oven. No guessing. No surprises. The nitty-gritty stuff. We use high-purity quartz glass because nobody wants to be replacing burnt-out tubes every other week. Depending on your machine version, you’ll get R7s or Sk15 connectors. And here is a pro tip: make sure they fit tight. A loose connection creates electrical resistance, which leads to arcing. That’s a fast track to killing a brand-new lamp. Real talk from the shop floor. These are true drop-in replacements. You won’t need to mess with your wiring or call in a specialist. But before you plug them in, do yourself a favor:clean your reflectors. If your reflectors are pitted or covered in grime, the lamp has to work twice as hard to push heat through. It’ll burn out way faster than it should. Give them a good scrub first. When your power output is consistent, you can finally stop obsessing over the HMI temperature settings. You just get steady bottle weights and get on with your day.
