The details that make the difference
Installation is straightforward, but alignment is non-negotiable. The lamp has to seat fully in the R7s socket, and the reflector needs to be clean and centered. Even a small offset shows up as hot/cold bands on the bottle wall. Run the lamp at the rated voltage and make sure the tunnel airflow matches the SR8’s standard cooling profile. Too much draft and you’re chasing heat. Too little and preforms can overheat. Handle the quartz tube with a clean glove. Fingerprints create hot spots—they shorten lamp life and cause temperature non-uniformity. If you’re running 24/7, keep a spare on the shelf.
